Student in Pontianak will get health insurance

Government of Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia started in 2010 provides insurance protection for students. Saturday (10/10), the mayor of Pontianak, Sutarmidji claimed to have talks with PT Asuransi Kesehatan (Askes) in the follow-up efforts to improve the quality of education in the city.

“If the budget available, starting elementary school whose parents are not able to be aided by putting the Jamkesmas (Public Health Insurance),” said Sutarmidji in Pontianak.

According Sutarmidji, later with this program, students who experienced health problems will be referred to a general practitioner who is appointed to serve Jamkesmas patients. “Starting in 2010, and we’ve talked about the budget, this short-term enough for those who can not afford it,” he said.

The program specifically for children from families in Pontianak city. Because of all this if the parents get Kamkesmas, children may not be. “Because Jamkesmas the individual programs,” he explained.

For 2011, the Government of Pontianak city will try all the good students are able or not able to get health insurance. They all must be covered by health insurance. “Our budget prepared Rp 2 billion. At first we prepared for the community, especially for school children because they are vulnerable plague,” said Sutarmidji.
